Service description

The certificate is provided by Saudi Standards to accredit an electric vehicle model and confirms that the electric vehicle complies with the technical regulation for electric vehicles.

Service requirments

  • Filling out an application form for Electric Vehicles.
  • Filling out a Supplier's Declaration of Conformity form.
  • Electric Vehicle Test Report / SASO's Compliance Report according to the format available in the Certification System (according to the latest version of the report published on SASO's website).
  • Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for the battery.
  • Model Approval Document - issued by the manufacturer of the electric vehicle (if submitted by the manufacturer, this is sufficient).
  • Quality Management System according to the Technical Regulation for Electric Vehicles (The factory should have an effective quality management system (the factory holding a certificate of management system in accordance with ISO/TS 16949) the specific requirements of the standard (ISO 9001) in the field of automobile production and related spare parts, or equivalent, fulfilling the requirements of this item).
  • Necessary warnings, operating and safe use guides for the product.
  • Dates of periodic tests for the electric vehicle.
  • Photos of the distinctive mark of the electric vehicle for safety purposes.
  • Designs and drawings to demonstrate compliance with the requirements of the Electric Vehicle Regulation.
  • Risk Assessment Report.
