Service description

In four steps, parties can obtain a license to practice the activity of periodic technical inspection of vehicles and start the application procedures.

Free/ Note:​ There are costs indicated in the conditions document for applying for a license for the periodic technical inspection activity for vehicles and what is stated in the executive regulations and documents of controls and provisions.

​40 working days, starting from the closing date of the application period

Service requirments

  • Attaching the national address. 
  • Attaching the draft certificate of incorporation and Statute of the periodic technical inspection company. The license applicant is also required to practice the activity by a corporate or a limited liability company, company provided that the capital of the applicant company shall not be less than (100,000,000 million riyals) one hundred million riyals.
  • Attaching a list of the founding members or shareholders and partners, including the shares of each and their percentage in the enterprise.
  • Attaching a report from SIMAH or any other licensed company to provide credit information, stating the soundness of the financial status of the founding members.
  • Attaching personal resumes of all the managers, partners and founders that are relevant to the project.
  • Attaching a proof that the applicant has the financial ability to provide the service of periodic technical inspection service and operating on the proposed sites.
  • Attaching a proof of the technical expertise and ability or the ability to obtain it.
  • Attaching the economic feasibility study.
  • Attaching any agreements with other parties outside the company.
  • Validity of all the documents when applying, and until issuing the licensing decision.
  • All documents must be submitted in Arabic or submitting supporting documents in a foreign language when needed, along with a translation of those documents from an accredited office. If there is a conflict between the Arabic text and the foreign text of the offers, the text in the Arabic language shall be taken into consideration.
  • The applicant for a group license must provide the initial bank financial guarantee of one million Saudi riyals (1,000,000 Saudi riyals).
  • Attaching the application file which must be submitted in electronic files, (PDF) version, in font size at least 14, with applications submitted in an open-source copy.
