Al-Kasabi: Implementing quality is a pillar for the progress of life ‎ in the Kingdom

 

       HE Dr. Saad bin Othman Al Kasabi, Governor of Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), patronized  the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Saudi Quality Council (SQC), with the participation of a wide range of quality experts and members of the Council on Thursday, 20/8/1440 AH, corresponding to 25/4/2019, at the Hilton Hotel.

       The governor of SASO said, in a speech on this occasion, that the Saudi Quality Council is considered one of the distinguished national experiences that emphasizes the complementarity and harmony between civil society organizations and specialized professional societies on the one hand and government agencies on the other. He added that the presence of this distinctive constellation of opinion-makers and thinkers, who bear the torch of quality, work to disseminate its culture and consolidate its concepts, emphasizes the importance of quality as an urgent need in this historic period experienced by our generous Kingdom under the guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and His Crown Prince, God save them.

          Al-Kasabi explained that the concept and applications of quality, as it represents a pivotal and essential pillar in improving the quality of life in the Kingdom in general, by improving the quality of services, goods and products, is imperative to urge the pace, commit to quality standards and practices, and to take advantage of these opportunities to emphasize the Kingdom's leadership in all areas at the international and regional levels.

          He pointed out that SASO works permanently and continuously through integrated and parallel efforts to develop and implement policies, regulatory and legal framework, and practices necessary to support and enhance the role of national quality infrastructure through developing mechanisms for issuing and adopting technical standards and regulations according to a clear methodology. Other efforts are to develop the system of conformity assessment, including the accreditation activity, which is one of the most important tests and work of inspection and certification. Therefore, those efforts focus on the accreditation activity, which is one of the most important pillars of the national infrastructure for quality.
