SASO Wins Best Saudi Government Account Award on Social Media

        The account of Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) on the social networking site "Twitter" won the Golden Excellence Award, as the best official account for a government body in the Kingdom. This came during the ceremony to announce winners of the Golden Excellence Award for websites, smart applications and social networking pages in the Arab region in its seventeenth session.    

        The award was received by Mr. Saad bin Abdullah Al-Mesaihel, Director General of Public Relations and Media, at SASO, during the ceremony organized by Excellence Awards Academy in the United Arab of Emirates.

According to the results announced by the Academy, the account of SASO on Twitter has won the highest score in the assessment conducted by a number of experts and neutral arbitrators, for the category of public bodies in the Kingdom.

        SASO's winning criteria included the richness and diversity of content the account offers to its followers; the power of interaction and communication with the public; the clarity of information and used method; the use of attractive designs; and a number of other criteria.

        Winning the award comes in recognition of SASO's outstanding efforts to raise awareness among consumers, through awareness films or other materials and means. SASO has a huge and distinctive production of awareness materials that help in raising awareness of consumers and contribute to introducing products that do not meet the standards and mechanisms for the selection of high quality products.

        For his part, Mr. Saad Al-Mesaihel expressed his happiness for winning this award, pointing out that it culminates the efforts made by SASO in raising the level of awareness. AL-Mesaihel thanked the Governor of SASO, Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-Kasabi, for the support and care of public awareness and education for all beneficiaries of SASO's services.

        He pointed out that SASO is working in accordance with a strategy of awareness and information that goes in line with recent developments and benefits from new media. He stressed that the awareness effort of SASO begins in the belief in its pivotal role in raising the level of awareness among all sectors of society and providing them with necessary information and technical backgrounds in a simplified manner. Such manner helps to activate the participation of consumers in limiting the circulation of commodities and products that do not conform to the standards that represent a real threat to the safety and security of consumers.
