A delegation of top officials from the Saudi Industrial Property Authority (MODON) visited Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) to learn about SASO's experience in the field of quality tests and applications, the working mechanism used in its laboratories and the workflow of its different units.

During the visit, the delegation took a look at the efforts of the General Administration of Laboratories at SASO and its work including conducting studies and research when preparing Saudi standards, carrying out tests and examinations on samples to grant the Quality Mark, conformity and export certificates and customs clearance permits, and other tasks.

The visit also included presenting the role of the National Measurement and Calibration Center (NMCC) as it is the national reference for measurement and calibration in the Kingdom and the responsible body for maintaining the national, referential, secondary and working standards and enhancing their accuracy. The  NMCC is also responsible for calibrating measuring devices and scales with the highest level of accuracy for public and private sectors and GCC member states. Moreover, it is responsible for preparing and reviewing standards and regulations related to measurement and calibration, with the consultation and cooperation with SASO's different technical administrations, the Kingdom-related sectors and GCC standardization bodies.

MODON, established in 2001, carries the responsibility of developing industrial lands with integrated infrastructure and services. It also oversees more than 32 existing and underdeveloped industrial cities in several regions of the Kingdom. Furthermore, it is responsible for creating the ideal environment for growth and development of technology zones, aiming at providing distinctive industrial cities and technology zones with integrated infrastructure and services in various regions of the Kingdom.
