Signing Technical Cooperation Program in Standardization Fields Between the Kingdom and India

     SASO concluded a technical cooperation program in the areas of standardization with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), in the presence of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz and the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

     Deputy Governor for Quality and Conformity, Eng. Saud bin Rashid Al-Askar, represented SASO and the Indian Ambassador to the Kingdom, Ahmed Javed represented India.
 
     Eng. Saud Al-Askar, the Deputy Governor for Quality and Conformity, expressed SASO's honor to conclude a cooperation program with the Indian partner in the fields of standardization, under which the quality and safety of India's imported commodities will be ensured, as well as poor and counterfeit commodities and products will be limited from entering Saudi markets. Such program will also contribute to overcome difficulties and technical barriers of trade between the two countries and facilitate trade.

     The signing of this program comes in the framework of a series of agreements and programs of technical cooperation that the Kingdom concluded with the Indian side during the visit by the Indian Prime Minister to the Kingdom. The visit comes in order to enhance the prospects of cooperation between the two countries, in various fields, in a way that serves the common interests of both countries.
