Al-Kasabi Announces Establishments Winning King Abdulaziz Quality Award on its Third Round

 

     Governor of SASO, Secretary General of King Abdulaziz Quality Award, Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-Kasabi, announced the winning of (9) establishments with King Abdulaziz Quality Award on its third round, out of (50) establishments that applied electronically through the Award's website.  

     Final results announced at the press conference held on Wednesday 18, 2016, at the headquarter of SASO, revealed the names of (3) winning companies in the field of large production establishments; Aljubail Petrochemical company (chemistry), Saudi Iron and Steel Company (iron) and Advanced Electronics Company. On the other hand, the Saudi Investment Bank won the award for the large service establishments' field. However, the award was withheld from medium-sized production establishments and medium-sized service establishments, as one of the applying establishments has not met the minimum requirements of the award, according to the Award regulations on its third round. 

     As for the new sectors added in the third round, Effat University received the award for the National Higher Education category, while Tarbya Namouthajiyah Schools received it for the category of private educational complexes. Finally, (3) health establishments received the award for the category of private hospitals a capacity of more than 100 beds; Alhammadi Hospital, Specialized Medical Center Hospital and Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital.

     For his part, Dr. Sa'ad bin Othman Al-Kasabi, Secretary General of the award, appreciated the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz to the third round, saying that such care comes in continuation of the blessed unsurprising support, from the rulers of this country to support and enhance quality concepts and applications in various sectors.

     Al-Kasabi pointed out that the General Secretariat of the Award has finished receiving establishments' applications last Muharram, corresponding to October, noting that the committees had started examining submitted applications from establishments, and notifying them of attending a training course on how to write a biography for an establishment. After attending the course, a due date will be set for submitting establishments' biographies. Al-Kasabi added that after examining and reviewing the biographies, the award asked assessment teams to carry out field visits to ensure conformity of reports with the actual reality and to ensure the credibility of the reports submitted by establishments at all stages. Then reports and assessment teams were discussed by a judging committee, which was made up of national and international experts in quality and organizational excellence, to take out and approve the final report in a strictly confidential manner.

     The Secretary General of the award called on national establishments to actively and constructively participate in the upcoming rounds and benefit from the Award's excellence model, as well as take advantage of the quality assessment experts (assessment teams). He stressed that there is a priceless advantage that the establishments gain from the detailed evaluation report, which shows the reality of these establishments and illustrates their strengths and available improvement opportunities.
