More Than Half a Million Users of "Verify" Application in a Month
SASO has announced that the number of users of "Verify" Application (تأكّد), which is recently launched on the two platforms (IOS and Android), exceeded (500) thousand users. They have downloaded it in the first month of its launch, in order to join the regulatory authorities in verifying the information of energy efficiency label.
The application, that SASO has developed in cooperation with SEEC, aims to activate and stimulate the supervisory role of the consumer, the basic axis, in monitoring offenses of non-conforming products to technical regulations adopted by SASO within the Saudi program initiatives for energy efficiency in the sectors of electrical appliances and vehicles, and in ensuring the validity of the Saudi Quality Mark on products.
The idea of the application is to scan the code QR on energy efficiency label of electrical appliances, such as air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines or fuel economy label for cars using QR reader. It allows comparison of the data shown on the application with the existing one on the label and a detailed review of all energy efficiency label components, with the possibility of using reporting feature that takes the consumer to the application of the Ministry of Commerce and Investment "Commercial Notification" in the case of non-conformity of the label data with the data in "Verify" application. In addition, it has a property to submit a notification to SASO for any violations of the license to use the quality mark for products.
It is worth mentioning that "Verify" application contributed in instructing the consumer about appliances efficiency and proved their standards reliability. The application sums up all the procedures without reference to the seller through providing information about the characteristics of the device, competence, type and standards. Through the application itself, a notification against fraud methods can be submitted and steps to follow-up the notification until its arrival to the responsible authorities, to take the necessary action, can be known as well.
