SASO  Deputy Governor for Quality and Conformity, Eng. Saud Al-Askar, inaugurated a department for the admission of conformity assessment bodies, within the framework of the efforts exerted to develop the quality and conformity sector at SASO. This development corresponds with the strategic visions of SASO, which target activating the private sector's role in certification in the field of conformity and quality and requiring the legislative and consultative role of bodies desiring to implement quality standards.

The inauguration of the department reflects SASO's keenness to provide that service with the highest levels of quality, enabling conformity assessment bodies to benefit from this service by registering a request for admission at SASO. The department is also responsible for providing all the information on conformity assessment bodies admitted in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, both for importers and exporters, in a quick and easy way.

Through the department, SASO aims to ensure the efficiency of conformity assessment bodies working in conformity verification activities within the systems and requirements of accredited technical regulations to provide activities necessary to issue certificates of conformity and conformity badges for goods, services and operations.

Conformity assessment department will ensure the efficiency and readiness of private bodies working in granting certificates and conformity badges, testing and inspecting in the Kingdom.
