SASO Deputy Governor: We are Facing a Great Challenge to Achieve Real Progress on the Level of Quality of Products and Services
Eng. Saud bin Rashed Al Askar, SASO Deputy Governor for Conformity and Quality, said: the Kingdom is facing a great challenge on the level of quality of products and services presented by all bodies and organizations to the consumer, in order to enhance the competitiveness and position of the Saudi economy and activate mechanisms of quality in the market, so that quality becomes in the end a key component in achieving the ambitious vision of our generous Kingdom.
This was during a speech he presented in the celebration of World Quality Day, Today Thursday. Eng. Al Askar confirmed that Quality is not just about proficiency, but extends to be a tool of excellence in its broad concept, whether it was on the level of organizational excellence or on the individual level. He added, quality simulates and enables creativity in the design and implementation of the service or product, as creativity has become an urgent requirement, in light of technological and cognitive development, witnessed by the world at the moment.
He mentioned, our wise government, has throughout history paid great attention to quality and its applications in various fields. When the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, may Allah protect him says: "my main goal is for our country to be a leading model at all levels", his words motivate us to achieve this goal, each in their field, interest and competence. His words put us against a religious and national responsibility to promote quality practices and apply them to all the activities, services and products.
Eng. Saud stressed the need for concerted efforts and cooperation between various bodies and individuals, to work diligently to the highest levels of quality, excellence and innovation, to have sense of responsibility, and to meet the level of aspirations and hopes.
SASO has organized, in conjunction with World Quality Day, several awareness events, at its headquarters in Riyadh, under the slogan "Quality.. an International Language for Excellence and Creativity". The events included various of lectures about " The Importance of Applying Quality Systems to Achieve Kingdom Vision 2030", " Self-Assessment.. a Tool to Achieve Operational Excellence in Institutions", and "Application of "Sigma 6" Methodology in National Industry", the events concluded with a lecture on Electronic Management and Quality.
