SASO's Lecture on Quality Management Systems for MODA Employees

 
     SASO participated in an awareness lecture on quality management systems, delivered to officers and employees of Ministry of Defense and Aviation (MODA). Eng. Saud bin Muhammed Al-Shabanat gave a lecture on quality management system ISO 9001:2015 to a number of MODA's officers and employees.

     The lecture, which was delivered by Eng. Saud Al-Shabanat, Director of SASO's Technical Consultation Administration, addressed many topics, ranging from the optimal ways to implement quality systems to ISO 9001, and from stages required to be done to the implementation of quality management system. Eng. Al-Shabanat said, "The new version (2015) of ISO Standard 9001 includes amendments to accreditation bodies, certification bodies, training institutions, consultation bodies and clients themselves."

     Moreover, he clarified, saying, "Establishments obtaining ISO 9001 certificate should meet the requirements of quality systems control, whether in relation to performance or the provision of products that perfectly comply with standards."

     He noted that "establishments obtaining ISO 9001 certificate should commit to controlling and measuring the level of their work and products. They should also have a mechanism to control the standard levels of their products' quality as well as a capability to detect non-conforming products." Further, he emphasized that establishments need to make reviews and perform internal audits to the procedures of management and quality systems annually, and to promote and disseminate quality management culture in small, large and mega establishments.

    The lecture comes within the cooperation and coordination framework between SASO and MODA and as a part of the efforts aiming at raising awareness of quality systems and applications and their role in developing the performance of different governmental and private sectors.
