Sign a Memorandum of Cooperation in Activities of Standardization, Quality Systems and Calibration
  


     The Ministry of Labor and Social Development and SASO have signed a memorandum of technical cooperation, on Thursday, in Riyadh. The memorandum aims at enhancing cooperation and joint action, in the interest of national development, serving the public interest, and assisting both sides in their efforts to achieve their objectives in the National Vision 2030.

     In signing the memorandum, the Ministry of Labor and Social Development was represented by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abu Thunain, and SASO was represented by Deputy Governor of Standards and Laboratories, Eng. Abdullah bin Awad Al-Qahtani. 

     The memorandum of technical cooperation, between the two sides, establishes localizing standardization and quality activities to promote the preparation, revision and updating of Saudi technical regulations and standards for a number of services provided by the Ministry. It also carries out necessary researches and studies, or needed joint initiatives. Moreover, it includes benefiting from specialists and experts, working for both sides, in the implementation of initiatives and projects of common interest.

     The memorandum also contributes to framing the use of technical and laboratory facilities and equipment available at SASO, to serve the aspects of cooperation in the field of calibration and laboratories and their accreditation. In addition, it takes part in enhancing cooperation in the fields of occupational safety and health, sustainable development, community partnerships, as well as humanitarian and relief work with the participation of relevant public and private sectors.
