Governor of SASO Receives US Trade Delegation

 

      Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has received a US trade delegation, including a number of representatives of governmental and professional agencies and American companies, to discuss ways of joint cooperation in SASO's fields of competence and the American bodies participating in the delegation.

      The delegation was received by H.E. Dr. Saad bin Othman Al Kasabi. It was attended by Eng. Ahmad bin Mousa Al-Zahrani, Director General of Saudi Energy Efficiency Center (SEEC); Deputy Governor of SASO for Standards and Laboratories, Mr. Tamas bin Ali Al-Hammadi; and a number of officials and specialists of SASO and SEEC. The delegation included representatives of the Department of International Trade, US Department of Commerce; the American National Standards Institute (ANSI); the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAMPO); International Council of Codes (ICC); the American Petroleum Institute (API); the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA); UL Laboratories; the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME); and other American companies.

      ​​SASO praised the important and distinguished cooperation relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America in various areas of standardization. SASO has signed a number of memorandums of understanding and cooperation programs with a number of relevant bodies and American standard development associations. The Kingdom is one of the largest countries to adopt the American standards. In addition, it has several programs based on the American standard specifications, including the Fuel Economy Program for vehicles, Energy Efficiency Program for air conditioners, and the Saudi Building Code.
