SASO explained in an awareness message through its official Twitter account that the Saudi standard specification of concrete reinforcement steel requires the presence of explanatory data on steel bars indicating the digital code for the steel grade, the standard applied in its manufacture, the diameter of each bar, as well as the symbol of the manufacturer.
SASO also indicated that the Saudi standard specifications oblige manufacturers to place an explanatory data label on each rebar bundle, including the standard number, grade and size of steel, in addition to the country of origin, number of bars in each bundle and other data.
However, SASO demanded the consumer to ensure the purchase of products bearing the quality mark to ensure the product's conformity to the relevant Saudi standard specifications.
