Service description

A free service that enables the beneficiary to register the data of the imported vehicle that does not have a Gulf Model Registration Certificate (CCR) and to obtain an inquery notice before it reaches the customs port.

Regulations for individual import of vehicles:
  • Unless it is the current year, import of small vehicles, buses, and light transport vehicles (3.5 tons and under) are allowed as long as their models are not older than five years.
  • Import of heavy trucks larger than (3.5) tons, including (locomotives, trailers, and semi-trailers), are permitted provided that their operational life does not exceed five years, starting from January 1st of the year of manufacture with a commitment to comply with the relevant legislation.
  • An inquiry notice is issued through the website in regards to the vehicle conforming to energy efficiency: ​(here​)
  • The import of antique vehicles that are over 30 years old is allowed (The vehicle cannot be driven on public roads as indicated on the customs card).
  • Used light vehicles not conforming to energy efficiency and the age limit can be imported for Saudi citizens and holders of premium residency with a financial consideration of between 20-50% of the vehicle's value and not less than 20000 Saudi Riyals, in accordance with the Saudi Council of Ministers' Resolution No. (335) dated 15 Jumada al-Akhirah 1443 AH, a financial compensation will be imposed, in exchange for importing a vehicle.   • Based on the following considerations:
    • Antique vehicles produced more than 30 years ago are not subject to this resolution.
    • Sports vehicles are not covered by this resolution (used on racetracks).
    • New vehicles that do not conform to energy efficiency do not have to comply with this resolution, as long as they are a model of the current or past Gregorian year, and the mileage doesn't exceed 1000 km.
