Minister of Commerce and Investment Visits SASO and Stresses its Role in Enhancing National Economy

     Minister of Commerce and Investment, Chairman of SASO Board, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, visited SASO on Thursday, Sha'ban 5th, 1437 H to review work process and mechanisms followed in preparing and developing Saudi standards. He also viewed efforts exerted to consolidate quality culture in all sectors in the Kingdom in addition to other issues relating to SASO's work.

     Al-Qasabi expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the former Minister of Commerce, the former Chairman of SASO Board, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah for his efforts and development initiatives he took during chairing the Board. He emphasized the great role played by SASO in supporting the national economy and promoting the quality culture in different business sectors in the Kingdom in accordance with the Kingdom's vision 2030.  The current Minister of Commerce and Investment demanded SASO's officials and employees to exert more efforts to protect consumers and develop Saudi standard specifications.

     Further, His Excellency the Minister met SASO's Governor and leaders. He also paid an inspection visit to SASO's laboratories which include qualitative laboratories specialized in energy efficiency, sanitary appliances, construction and building products, electronic and electrical products, etc., in addition to the National Measurement and Calibration Center (NMCC).

     For his part, the Governor of SASO renewed his pledge to exert more efforts to upgrade Saudi economy and industry through the enhancement of confidence in Saudi standard specifications. Procedures and systems related to consumer protection will be developed to enhance Saudi economy and industry. Moreover, work on consolidating and disseminating quality culture in all business fields and sectors will be continued.
