Saudi Standards announced to begin the mandatory implementation on uncontrolled products subjected to the technical regulations in Saber electronic platform starting from 01\01\2021 corresponding to 17\05\1442 A.H.

SASO indicated that this step comes as a continuation of its efforts to raise the safety and quality levels of consumer products, as well as to ensure that they are free from defects that may affect the health and safety of the consumer or his environment.

Also, SASO confirmed that it obligates traders (importers, factories) to issue a local self-certification certificate for local products, or an importer self-certification certificate for imported products in addition to a certificate of conformity with the consignment of imported products.

SASO clarified that Saber facilitates the beneficiaries of the suppliers and owners of local factories to reach the approved conformity assessment bodies around the world, to obtain the required conformity and consignment certificates, and register them in Saber from the country of origin. That is for to facilitate and accelerate products to entry Saudi market, which leads to a reduction in time spent in the matching process electronically.

SASO invited beneficiaries to access into Saber platform's website to learn more about new services and products registration through Saber.sa,  noting that saber's electronic platform has been developed by collaborating with the technical partner ''Thiqah'' business services company according to the highest standards of efficiency, to move towards achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in digital transformation.
